Rainforest Trust's latest partnership for the protection and conservation of Peruvian Rainforest: "Peru, home to the second-largest Amazon rainforest, is facing rapid deforestation due to land grabbing for agriculture and timber trade. The Loreto region, losing 1.9 million acres from 2001 to 2021, is a critical area with diverse species, including endangered ones like the Giant Otter and Black-faced Black Spider Monkey. Rainforest Trust and Centro para el Desarrollo del Indígena Amazónico (CEDIA) are collaborating to protect 3,825,000 acres in Loreto, safeguarding both Indigenous rights and 1 billion metric tons of stored carbon crucial for the planet."
